1. Who we are and scope

Tayseer is a platform for marriage introductions within Islamic guidelines, and for family consultations with independent advisors. It is operated by Athr (“we”), which is responsible for processing your data.

This policy covers the Tayseer app (Android and iPhone) and the tayseer.tech website. By using the service you confirm you have read it; where the law requires your explicit consent (for example sensitive data and location) we ask for it in the app before processing.

2. Data we collect

We collect what you give us, what your use produces, and what comes from your device:

  • Account data: name, e-mail, phone number, gender, country and language, and how you sign in (e-mail and code, phone via WhatsApp or SMS, a Google or Apple account, or guest).
  • Marriage profile — sensitive data: marital status, your answers to the compatibility survey (for example religious practice, education, work, physical attributes and preferences), photos, and an intro video and voice note if you add them. This is collected only to run the marriage service and is shown only as far as your visibility settings allow.
  • Identity check: when you start “face verification” you take a live capture that is compared with your main photo to confirm the account is yours, using a verification service run by the company. It may involve biometric facial data, is used for this purpose only and is never shown to other users.
  • Location: your country is derived from your details, your connection (IP address) or the device. If you grant location permission we update your approximate position in your account to show nearer members, to detect your country when you enter your phone, and to pick an event location on the map. We do not track you in the background, and you can withdraw the permission in device settings at any time.
  • Content and communication: chat text, voice and media, posts, stories, comments and reactions, blogs, reports you submit, and contact-sharing requests you accept.
  • Consultation sessions: bookings, their time, length and price, and your ratings. Video calls run on a Jitsi server operated by the company.
  • AI assistant: the messages you write to the assistant are sent to a language-model provider (OpenRouter) to produce a reply. Do not put confidential or sensitive details in it. Replies may be inaccurate and are not religious, legal or medical advice.
  • Payments: your plan or pack, its status and dates, and your wallet transaction history. Payment is handled by the Apple or Google store or the Paymob gateway; we never see or store your card number.
  • Device and usage data: device type, system and app version, language, notification token, IP address, the screens you visit and basic usage events, and performance and error logs.
  • Calendar: we do not read your calendar. We write a consultation session into it only when you ask, and it stays on your device.
  • Camera, microphone and photos: used only when you take a picture, record, call or pick a photo; we do not access them otherwise.

3. Why we process it (legal basis)

  • Contract: running your account, matching, messaging, session booking and subscriptions.
  • Your consent: sensitive data, face verification, location, marketing notifications and personalised ads where required. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting what happened before.
  • Our legitimate interests: security, preventing fraud and fake accounts, improving and measuring the service, and moderating abusive content.
  • Legal obligation: keeping financial records and responding to competent authorities.

4. Advertising and measurement

The app shows Google AdMob ads to non-subscribers, inside content only (the feed, marriage cards and reels), and none to subscribers. AdMob uses your device advertising ID (the AD_ID permission on Android). Where the law requires it we show Google’s consent form before any ad request. On iPhone ads are always non-personalised, we do not ask for tracking permission, and we do not read the advertising identifier for tracking. Our ads are set to a general (G) content rating.

We use AppsFlyer to measure where an install came from and its events (such as sign-up and subscription, with purchase value). We send it general attributes — gender, platform, language, app version and user type — and not your name, e-mail or phone. On iPhone AppsFlyer does not use the advertising identifier in our app.

You can manage or reset your advertising ID in device settings.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only with the following, as needed:

  • Other users: they see what you choose to publish on your profile and posts. Marriage photos are protected and shown inside the app only. Phone or e-mail is revealed only through a contact-sharing request you accepted, which you can withdraw.
  • Advisors: they see the booking details needed to hold the session.
  • Infrastructure providers: server hosting (Hostinger), media storage and video processing (Amazon Web Services), notifications and social sign-in (Firebase / Google / Apple).
  • Messaging providers: delivering verification codes by WhatsApp or SMS.
  • Payments: the Apple store, the Google store and the Paymob gateway.
  • Advertising and measurement: Google AdMob and AppsFlyer, as in section 4.
  • AI assistant: OpenRouter and the AI models it routes to.
  • Country from IP address: the ipapi.co service at sign-up.
  • Authorities and courts where the law requires it or to protect rights and safety, and a successor if the business is merged or sold.

6. Transfers outside your country

Your data may be stored and processed on servers outside your country, including in Europe and the United States used by our providers. We require our providers to protect it appropriately and only for the agreed purpose, in line with the laws that apply, including those of Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

7. Retention

  • We keep your data while your account exists.
  • When you delete your account your personal data is permanently erased — profile, photos, messages, posts, follows, notifications, sign-in sessions and more — and cannot be restored.
  • We retain financial and accounting records (wallet, transactions, bookings, purchases, withdrawal requests and support reports) as needed for accounting, reconciliation and legal duties. They are not shown to any user and are not linked to a public profile.
  • Backups roll off on their normal cycle, and security and error logs are kept for a limited time.

8. Security

We encrypt the connection between the app and our servers and pin the certificates, keep credentials in the device’s secure storage (Keychain / Keystore), encrypt the chat history on the device, block screenshots of marriage pages on Android, and restrict staff access by role. No transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we will notify you and the authorities of a breach as the law requires.

9. Your rights and how to use them

  • Access and correct your data: from your profile and Settings in the app.
  • Delete your account and data: from Settings in the app (“Delete account permanently”), or by e-mail below, as described on the account-deletion page.
  • Portability: ask for a copy of your data by e-mail below.
  • Withdraw consent and object: to notifications, marketing, location and personalised ads, in the app and device settings.
  • Complaint: you may complain to the data-protection authority in your country, including the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) and Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Centre.
  • We answer requests within 30 days.

10. Children

The service is for adults only (18 and over) and we do not knowingly collect anyone’s data below that age. If we learn of a minor’s account we delete it; a guardian can write to us for this.

11. Website and cookies

The website uses a single essential cookie to keep you signed in (HttpOnly and secure) and uses no tracking or advertising cookies.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version, and we will tell you in the app of a material change. If the Arabic and English versions differ, the Arabic prevails.
